Leigh Hubner is a Sydney-based freelance cameraman who has worked in Australia and overseas on a wide-range of projects. After starting his career in Queensland as a local news cameraman, Leigh was soon shooting for national news and entertainment programs. In 2003, Leigh trained as a steadicam operator and for more than eight years has worked on live broadcasts, football coverage, music videos, TVCs and documentaries. He is one of Australias most in-demand steadicam specialists, and most recently has worked on projects including Channel Ten and Lifestyle Channel promos. Leigh also regurly operates Jimmy Jibs and Techno Jibs, and in 2011 began training using the German 'Spidercam'. One of only two Spidercam operators in Australia, he has worked on the 2011 Australian Open Tennis, the 2011 AFL Grand Final in Melbourne and the South East Asia Games in Palembang, Indonesia.

Melissa Doyle, host of Australia's top rating national breakfast show Sunrise visited the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya. Leigh was selected to capture the images of hardship on this journey.This project won Leigh a Gold ACS Award.
Sunrise's Grant Denyer wanted to ride a motorbike to the very tip of Northern Australia and be the first to broadcast live from Cape York. This project won Leigh a Silver ACS Award.
