I’ve worked with Leigh on a variety of shoots, including a Darren Hayes concert
at the Sydney Opera House and a music video for Axle Whitehead. We’ve shot
digital betacam, HD and 35mm film and some of the most memorable moments
were Leigh’s innovative Steadicam shots. On the live concert work, I was
particularly impressed with Leigh’s ability to not only get right up close to the
action and track smoothly in long shots from onstage continuing through to the
audience, but to also operate the camera in a more freeform mode. Leigh is my
first call when it comes to any Steadicam work – in fact I’d postpone a shoot to
ensure we get Leigh on the job.
